Precious Metals Custody Through a Multi-Year Term
Metal keeps its value across a long term better than almost anything else a household owns. It also has to physically survive that term somewhere, and a house that may not be kept is not the place.
Consultations with counsel are complimentary. We can meet at the facility or at your office.

Why this matters
What goes wrong over a long term
Bullion at home is the most attractive and least traceable target in the property. If the residence is given up during the absence, the metal has to go somewhere anyway — usually to a relative, which converts a security problem into a family problem.
How custody handles precious metals
- Signed inventory by weight and form at intake.
- Private viewing room, so a named agent can verify holdings mid-term.
- Vault floor loading is engineered for palletized metal.
- Climate at 50% RH prevents silver from toning over a multi-year hold.
Coverage
How this is insured
Metal is priced off weight and purity rather than appraisal, so an underwriter needs a verified inventory rather than a valuer. That is exactly what informally held metal does not have. A homeowner's policy typically caps precious metals at a low fixed sum regardless of what is in the house, and the cap is not open to negotiation after a loss. For a fiduciary holding metal on behalf of an estate, an unscheduled holding is a personal exposure, not just the estate's.
Succession
What happens to it in an estate
Bullion is untitled and unregistered. It generates no statement, appears on no account listing, and cannot be traced by a personal representative who does not already know it exists. In practical terms an unrecorded holding is not merely at risk of loss — it is invisible to the administration entirely. The dated inventory is doing more work here than the vault door, because it is what converts the holding into an asset anyone can find.
Which box size fits
Under 100 oz of gold fits a 5×10×24 comfortably. Silver and multi-kilo positions need a 10×10×24 or larger.
Common questions
- Is the metal weighed at intake?
- Yes, and recorded on the signed inventory. A scale is available at any later verification.
- Can a named agent verify it mid-term?
- Yes, in a private viewing room, with the visit documented.
- Can it be sold mid-term?
- Only by a party with the authority to do so. We are a custodian, not an agent for sale.
