The case
Why counsel near Boca Raton use custody storage
Professional practices in a residential market
Boca's legal and professional community largely serves individuals and families rather than institutions — estate planning, elder law, small business succession. The property in question is usually personal, the client is often retired, and the person who will eventually need access is usually a child living somewhere else. Every part of that argues for documented custody with named authorizations rather than a home safe.
The safe in the seasonal house
A very large share of Boca housing is occupied for part of the year. A bolted safe in a house that is empty from May to November is not protected by the house — it is inside the flood envelope, inside the fire, and unobserved for six months. Counsel here raise this with clients more often than anywhere else on this list, because it is visibly true of their own street.
Elder law and the capacity window
The hardest custody conversations in this market are the ones that happen slightly too late. Once capacity is in question, adding an authorized party is no longer a form — it is a court process. The arrangement costs almost nothing to set up while a client is well, and a great deal to replace once they are not. That timing, not the vault, is the actual advice.

Getting to the vault from Boca Raton
Boca Raton sits about twelve minutes north of the vault by I-95 — the closest of the Palm Beach County locations by a wide margin, and close enough that in-person deposits are practical. The county line is the detail worth knowing. A Boca client's estate is administered in Palm Beach County while the property sits in Broward. That combination is ordinary and creates no problem, but it belongs in the file at the start rather than in a discovery during administration.

Questions counsel ask
- I live in Palm Beach County. Does storing in Broward complicate my estate?
- Not by itself. Assets are routinely held outside the county of administration. What matters is that your personal representative knows the property exists and is authorized to collect it. The real risk is an unrecorded container in the next county that nobody was told about.
- Can my adult child be named now, rather than later?
- Yes, and that is the right time to do it. Adding an authorized party while you have capacity is a form and a signature. Adding one afterwards is a guardianship petition. We would rather have the conversation early and be told you have decided against it.
- How far is the facility from Boca Raton?
- About 30 minutes from Boca Raton in normal traffic. We are at 3562 N Ocean Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, on the Galt Ocean Mile.
- Can you collect from my office instead of the client’s home?
- Yes. Low-profile armored collection is available throughout South Florida in unmarked vehicles. Many intakes run through counsel rather than through the client.
- How quickly can custody be arranged?
- Same week in most cases, and same day where a date is imminent. The limiting factor is usually the inventory, not the vault.
- What do you tell a court if asked?
- We comply with valid subpoenas and court orders. We tell counsel that before intake, not after. Nothing here is designed to conceal property from lawful process.
